Kobi Zakai, Advocate & C.P.A (Isr.), was born in 1954.
Kobi obtained a degree in Law (LL.B) at Tel-Aviv University in 1989 and a degree in Accountancy and Economics (B.A) in 1978.
Prior to joining ECO, Kobi served as a member of the executive board and as the director of regulation and government of Partner Communications Company Ltd. ("Partner") – a leading Israel provider of telecommunication services (cellular, fixed line telephony and internet services) which operates under the orange™ brand.
In addition, Kobi has also served as a Deputy Legal Advisor and Acting legal advisor to several leading Israeli corporations such as Partner and Bezeq - the Israel Telecommunication Corp. Ltd. (Israel's largest and leading telecommunications group). Kobi was also a Legal Advisor to Clal (Israel) Ltd., one of Israel's leading corporate conglomerates, at that time.
In his previous positions, Kobi gained extensive experience in leading complex regulatory issues vis-a-vis senior government officials, the Knesset (Israel's Parliament) and other government and public authorities.
Kobi has also handled, inter alia, matters relating to governmental intervention in pricing, the introduction of new competitors in various markets, new legislation, telecommunications regulation, consumer protection, privacy and data protection and intellectual property.
Kobi has also handled major litigation cases (including petitions to the High Court of Justice and class action applications). He was also involved in complex commercial activities and transactions and dealt with issues in the areas of corporate law and securities (including the preparation of company prospectuses).
During the years 1980 to 1989, prior to his internship in Law, Kobi was acting as a C.P.A (Isr.) and gained wide experience in auditing, preparation of financial reports, income tax matters and economic advising.
Kobi joined Epstein, Chomsky, Osnat & Co. in July 2012 as a partner and the head of the firm's Regulation and Telecommunications Department.
Kobi is fluent in English and Hebrew.
